Also should you comb your beard before or after applying the leave in product and the oil?

It sounds like you picked up a styling balm. Those are great for many stages of beard growth, but we recommend using moisturizing oils before venturing out. Oils and the product you're using can be used in tandem, and we recommend starting off with the oil since anything that styles or controls your beard usually doesn't have any moisturizing properties. Feel free to email support@beardbrand.com if you're struggling to choose which products best suit your needs.

I would second what Josh mentioned. At a month in you really want to focus on keeping your face and beard moisturized. A good beard oil will take care of that for you.

Regarding the combing question, I typically comb before and after applying oil. At your beard length a good boars hair brush would we beneficial as well.

Oil is always your first port of call for your beard. Sure you can use different products at the same time. My beard is pretty full and long so I use oil in at the roots which I comb both before and after applying. I then use balm on the surface after which I brush just the surface to get it distributed. I also apply a light conditioning oil before going to bed and I find this works really great.

Also I co-wash my beard each morning and shampoo it on Saturdays.

I find using shampoo each morning drys my beard.
