Confused about which Beardbrand balm to pick up? Here's a quick breakdown of what they do.
Utility Balm - serves the same function as a leave in conditioner. It moisturizes, conditions, softens, shines and scents - just like our beard oil does. However, it has been designed for multiple application. Utility balm also serves as a skin moisturizer that you can apply to dry skin on your body anywhere: ashy elbows, hands, arms etc. Just like a lotion! If you rub it into your tattoos, you’ll give them some shine and they’ll look like they’re fresh! So to summarize, utility balm is a leave in conditioner (beard oil) that does a bunch of other stuff, hence the name “utility”. The utility balm is seriously a game changer. It’s the only one on the market right now so make sure you're one of the first!
Styling Balm - serves no moisturizing or softening purposes, but is strictly designed to provide hold. This balm is perfect for shaping and holding those wiry and unruly hairs down. It's light-weight with a medium hold. It won't weight your beard down. The best part about putting this product in is that it won't look like you have any product in at all. It has a very natural look to it. Also, you can use it on your head hair! I use it to style my head hair every single day. If you still need something to moisturize, using beard oil in combination with the styling balm is ideal.
What is super important with both of these balms is proper application. A little goes a long way! Using too much at one time of either of these will not give you the intended results. You’ll have to play around with both in order to figure out what the right amount is for your beard. Here are a couple of instructional videos from our youtube channel about proper usage:
