So, this is my 3rd attempt at growing a yeard. The longest I've made it is 10 months and then I end up trimming to a different, much shorter and stylized beard for reasons I won't bore you with :) Anyway, this time around I'm not trimming or shaping anything until I'm past the 12 month mark. I figure I'll wait an extra 2 months so I have close to an inch to work with when I get it shaped and evened up a bit. I want to go to PA and have George Bruno do the work.
I use Beardbrand oil and utility balm on a daily basis and I'm a huge fan of the Teatree products. use some of Mr Bruno's tips and suggestions such as washing only one a week and co-washing all the other days and using a very wide tooth comb for combing the beard out as well as a gentle no tangles brush when I try t style it a bit..
Today, I'm at 3 days past the 7 month mark and the beard just looked really good so I thought I'd post a picture :) I've got a little bit of everything in it, some oil, utility and styling balms and mustache wax. The fly aways around the edges are a result of me yanking my sweater over my head after doing the beard. Until then, the styling balm gave a really smooth look to the outline. I just did things out of order.
To those out there going for the yeard, have fun, be patient, don't trim and remember to "Let it grow and let it flow!"
To beardsmen everywhere, beard on!
