Hey man! Turns out the Four Vices is designed to be a lot more subtle. It is the most subtle of the gold line fragrances. It's designed that way for guys who want the gold line, but don't want a fragrance that interferes with other fragrances that they might wear. For example, colognes or body sprays. That's pretty much the idea behind it!

    Hey!

Oh I didn't get that. Actually I've just noticed that the product is marketed as such (although not that clearly) , but just under the description of the Four Vices oil. It would make more sense if the description of the balm and oil flagrance match together.

Reading the reviews of both the oil and the balm, I feel like people are quite surprised by its subtlety. From my personal point of view, I'd wish it could be a bit stronger, specially because it smells good and that it comes at this price tag.

Since I ordered the Gold trinity balms to try them all, I must say that I'm bit disappointed. I tried the temple smoke this morning but the scent just fades away in minutes. The only balm that reaches my expectation for a Gold product is Old Money.

I read some reviews saying that the oil and balm flagrance sometimes don't match (temple smoke reviews), is this possible ?

Keep in mind, some scents trigger anosmia (nose blindness) sooner or more completely than others. Make sure you are checking with someone else to see if they can smell it. It could just be that you are getting used to the scent since it is right under your nose.
