    If you're concerned about the length, I would recommend using a good pair of scissors to lightly trim down the length around your chin. This will allow you to keep it tamed and allow for the rest of your beard to catch up.

    You gotta make it past the awkward stage. My suggestion is to keep growing. After another month or two then you can entertain ideas of shaping.

    I prefer the natural line, but if you are concerned with patchy cheeks then when you do the shaping you could look into bringing the cheek lines down.
